The charge amplifier Type 5073A with its sealed metal case is designed for harsh industrial environments. Depending on the version, up to four measuring channels can be accommodated in a single case. A single-channel version with four summed charge inputs is also available. With its variable measuring range, acquisition of peak values, programmable offset, programming interface and excellent technical data, the ICAM is extremely versatile. The charge input is protected against electrostatic discharge. A differential stage compensates for potential differences between sensor and case ground. Optocouplers isolate the digital inputs electrically. The input measure always affects all channels at the same time. Version 5073A..2 provides asymmetric current output, which limits the measurement to negative electrical charge signals from piezoelectric sensors, which corresponding to positive process load. Version 5073A..5 provides symmetrical current output 12±8 mA, which allows to measure negative and positive electrical charge signals from piezoelectric sensors. Version 5073A5.. is ideal for multi-sensor platform builds. It connects four sensor inputs to a single charge amplifier channel, so that an external summing-box is not required. Degrees of protection cover IP40 (BNC) and IP65 (TNC).

Via serial connection and Manuware PC software, the signal gain and filter can be configured for each channel separately.
