Precision and surface quality are the requirements for metal and plastic components in many industries. The Automated Vision Inspection machine vision system is fed via robot assisted parts handling. Feeding and discharging is accomplished by vision guided pick & place robots and can be configured flexibly. The test criteria consist in 100% inspection of the parts’ dimensions and surface properties. Different camera configurations and the easy-to-use Kistler image processing software KiVision allow adjusting the system to meet specific customer requirements. The software also enables the statistical analysis of the inspected components and the generation of quality reports.
