  • Wireless connection between DAQ system and service laptop

The brake force measuring system enables simple and reliable verification of the operation of all rail vehicles braking systems. It saves up to 20% of maintenance cost for the rail brake system when extending the revision cycle time of brake components while the system verifies proper operation and safety of the mechanical and pneumatic brake systems via force measurement. The system includes measuring amplifier, data acquisition unit, application software and a workshop or field case for the daily use in the harsh maintenance environment. The system works with piezoelectric brake force sensors from Kistler for pneumatic shoe brakes, disc braks and hydraulic disc brakes (e.g. for tram maintenance applications). Beside maintenance applications, the measuring system also provides deep technical insights into the dynamic behaviour of rail brake systems for engineers. The measurement results are very helpful for development, verification and troubleshooting and may serve as a true technical basis for warranty discussions.
