IEPE accelerometers for axial rotation, shear quartz / 8838

Type 8838 are unique quartz shear accelerometers capable of measuring axial rotational acceleration

8838

Type 8838 are unique quartz shear accelerometers capable of measuring axial rotational acceleration
Main features / advantages
  • Shear quartz piezoelectric principle
  • Measures axial oscillations
  • Hermetic construction
  • Lightweight and convenient through hole mount
Type 8838 is a novel complement of shear mode sensors that is designed to respond to a distinctly different form of induced oscillations. The internal orientation of the quartz elements enables the Type 8838 accelerometers to respond to oscillations occurring above the unit’s mounting axis when installed in a non-rotating test application. The shear technology from Kistler assures high immunity to base strain, thermal transients and transverse accelerations. Notable features include wide frequency response, lightweight titanium construction, hermetic and ground isolated design.
