Stanztec 2024: Kistler with solutions for optical quality inspection and process monitoring

At Stanztec 2024 in Pforzheim (June 25-27), we will be exhibiting two user-friendly solutions for quality assurance in punching technology at stand A-48 in hall GS: Our new analog controller KCA 400 / Touch for process monitoring in double sheet control is celebrating its premiere and will be presented with a color and touch screen, among other features. Our KVC 621 SE vision system for optical quality inspection is characterized by its compact design and high inspection process reliability at cycle times of up to 4,000 parts per minute.

The KVC 621 SE optical quality inspection system

At Stanztec 2024, Kistler will be showcasing the KVC 621 SE vision system for optical quality inspection with KiVision image processing software - including artificial intelligence.

Process monitoring for double sheet control

The revised analog controller KCA 400 / Touch enables the use of up to four inductive sensors for double sheet control. The sensors connected to the controller are placed in the punching tool; just two diagonally arranged sensors detect tilting of the spring-loaded guide plate - for example, because of a build-up of punching waste. The controller is also equipped with a touchscreen and displays detailed information in color. It can now also display status and error messages in other languages such as Chinese.

Optical quality inspection of stamped parts

The modular KVC 621 SE optical quality inspection system with its 600-millimeter-wide housing and fast availability is designed for the mass production of stamped parts. Up to 4,000 test parts per minute pass through the optical inspection: integrated camera stations record the individual parts. The KiVision image processing software developed by us then evaluates the images and detects dimensional and contour deviations as well as surface defects such as scratches or dents. Thanks to close PLC monitoring, the vision system ensures that every single part is inspected. Anomaly detection based on artificial intelligence can also be integrated for appropriately designed inspection parts and requirements.
