Test and measurement solutions for industrial fastening technology ensure the reliability of bolted joints and torque tools.

Fastening technology

To maximize quality and cut costs, fastening technology must be continuously monitored and tested. In virtually every sector of industry, assembly with bolts and screws is one of the most frequently used joining processes in manufacturing. It’s crucially important for bolted joints to function safely and reliably – otherwise, there will be the risk of recalls and additional costs.

We offer an extensive portfolio of test and analysis systems. They analyze the functional characteristics of bolted joints (such as the coefficient of friction, preloading force or torque) and also bolting tools; they capture all the measured values and provide a clear presentation of the documented results. These systems allow targeted monitoring of tolerance limits, and they ensure that process deviations in fastening technology are detected at an early stage.

Bolted joints – quality monitoring with ANALYSE systems from Kistler

The ANALYSE system from Kistler is the solution for quality monitoring of bolted joints according to automotive requirements.

The horizontal ANALYSE system from Kistler facilitates fast and precise testing and analysis of fasteners in conformity with international or customer-specific standards – especially with regard to the determination of coefficients of friction.

Testing the quality of bolted joints: with the vertical ANALYSE system 50 N∙m from Kistler

For wood screws or self-tapping screws, it is often easier to work in vertical orientation. Depending on sensor technology, the testing of metrical or inch threaded parts can be performed here as well.

Torque tool testing and calibration prior and during assembly

With fastening technology test stands of the cerTEST series from Kistler torque tools can be tested and calibrated onsite.

Regular torque tool testing and calibration is essential whenever reliable bolted joints are needed in today's industrial production processes. Not only do torque tools such as torque wrenches and rotary nutrunners have to be calibrated and certified prior to assembly: they also need repeated inspection and verification as the assembly work proceeds. The objective: to maintain continuous high tool performance in order to achieve optimal assembly results and meet specified standards.

Advantages of our inspection systems for torque tool testing and calibration:

  • Dynamic inspection of torque tools prior and during assembly
  • Reproducible conditions for calibration or certification of bolting systems
  • Calibration of torque wrenches to ISO 6789

Do you have any questions about testing and calibrating, respectively certifying, torque wrenches and nutrunners? We'll be happy to assist you.

Efficient in-process inspection in fastener assembly

The  INSPECTOR electronic torque wrenches are hand tools designed to fasten and check bolted joint connections by following various procedures. The measured values can be evaluated and archived using the software platforms CEUS and testXpert.
