The KiTraffic Basic system Type 9835A includes straight and tilted Lineas sensors Type 9195G or Lineas Compact sensors Type 9196A, a Weigh In Motion Data Logger Type 5204A, and associated electronics. The Lineas Weigh In Motion sensors are force sensors with quartz elements, specifically designed to measure wheel and axle loads of road vehicles. When force is applied to the sensor, the quartz elements generate an electrical charge signal proportional to the applied force. The sensors connect to the Kistler Weigh In Motion Data Logger, which converts the charge signals from the Lineas Weigh In Motion sensors into wheel, axle, and gross vehicle weight, along with vehicle speed and classification information.
