Blechexpo 2023: Kistler presents new solution for optical inspection of mass stamped parts

Winterthur, September 2023 – At this year’s Blechexpo from November 7 to 10 in Stuttgart at booth 6317 in Hall 6, Kistler will present the new compact KVC 621 SE optical quality inspection system for mass stamped parts – and demonstrate live how quickly and precisely the KVC 621 SE operates.

On display at the booth are several additional innovative solutions for quality testing and assurance in sheet metal processing: In addition to a measuring chain for insertion and withdrawal forces of stamped contacts with a special compensation element, visitors can also experience the mobile testing devices from the handheld family as well as the inspector electronic torque wrench and the caliTEST-B calibration device for torque wrenches.

The KiVision image processing software detects deviations from dimensions or contours as well as relevant surface defects.
Developed by Kistler, the KiVision image processing software detects deviations from dimensions or contours as well as relevant surface defects. It also enables anomaly detection based on artificial intelligence.

KVC 621 SE inspects up to 4,000 mass-produced stamped parts per minute

With a width of just 600 millimetres, the established innovative technology from Kistler and fast throughput time, the KVC 621 SE system is ideally suited for in mass production of stamped parts. Its standardized equipment with up to three integrated camera stations and sensitive touchscreen allows the KVC 621 SE to be delivered and operating quickly within four to six weeks.

During Blechexpo 2023, Kistler will not only demonstrate precise inspection processes live on the machine, but also showcase its customization options.

Extended portfolio for process monitoring and quality inspection in sheet metal processing

Kistler will also be showcasing a measuring chain for insertion and withdrawal forces of stamped contacts that provides precise, reproducible quality assurance directly on the production line. It consists of:

  • a piezoelectric sensor, measuring the insertion and withdrawal forces of the contacts
  • a special compensating element which eliminates falsification of the measurements due to potential lateral forces
  • an integrated process monitoring system maXYmos NC, which analyses and evaluates the measured data and, if necessary, controls the drive or the electromechanical axis

As a Smart Single Station, Kistler offers this measuring chain and others as a complete, ready-to-use inspection system. The handheld family complements the portfolio of quality inspection solutions. The series of mobile inspection devices checks, verifies and compares sensor data directly on the machine.

Solutions for safe system engineering at Blechexpo 2023

With the electronic torque wrench inspector and the caliTEST-B calibration device, Kistler presents two solutions for the construction of manufacturing systems for the sheet metal industry. The caliTEST-B allows machine capability tests in accordance with VDI/VDE 2645 as well as the standard-compliant calibration of tools, thanks to individual useable sensors in the range of 0.1 to 1,000 Newton meters.
